8th Grade Negative Space Value Paintings
First, students sketched a bicycle by focusing on the negative shapes. Then, the 8th Graders learned how to create tints and shades of one color. To make a tint, they added white to a color, and to make a shade they added black. The goal was to vary the amount of white and black used to create seven different values of a color.
