4th Grade Giacometti Sculptures
4th Graders learned about Alberto Giacometti, a Swiss sculptor, and created their own sculpted figures out of wood, wire and plaster. They took pictures of their sculptures to show scale—or the size of an object in relation to another object. Their goal was to make their sculpture look large and small in each picture. This relates to the difficulty of Giacometti in his efforts to make his sculptures big and thick!
